Search help:

NVR - Video Exception

Solution

Hi I purchased a 9ch NVR from you, but cannot get any of the cameras to connect.

I have used the search tool and can connect to the cameras via IE.
I have searched for the cameras using the NVR setup and the search is successful and the camera appears in the camera list.
I can click on "Details" and the camera image appears.
However when i click save and go back to the main screen the camera will not connect, Video Exception

FYI, I have not installed HDD yet.

Images attached.

Regards
Andy

Hello Andy,

Thanks for your feedback.

Before use the NVR, you need to choose appropriate Resolution on NVR's main setting.

Check/read this article:

(NVR can find IP camera but can't display image)

Hi Peter,

Yes that works.
I see the thumbnail version.

However when I double the camera thumbnail to full screen size the error occurs again "video exception" and the picture freezes.

Andy

Hello Andy Lakeland,

Thanks for your feedback.

Pleas try to use different protocol for IP camera.

Please do you have update, the recorded video is also blank, I suspect the same problem.

The NVR is useless if it will not record.

Thanks
andy

Hello Andy Lakeland,

I have contacted our engineer, he insisted that it was the problem of wrong stream type on NVR.

Please make sure the NVR's resolution matches the IP camera's resolution.

Or would you please tell us the model name for the connected IP camera?

Sincerely,

Peter Chen

Hello Andy Lakeland,

Thanks for your feedback.

This is still related to NVR's resolution and IP camera resolution setting.

For the IP camera, please lower its resolution to 1080P.

Sincerely,

Hi Peter,

I have the settings set to 1080p, camera and on on the NVR channel.

Hello Andy,

After we checked your photo, we found that:
1. You might sub-stream recording (should be disabled).
2. You might choose wrong resolution parameter on NVR.
The correct parameter for IP camera is 1920*1080

Sincerely,

Peter Chen

HI Peter,

I have tried with both sub stream enabled and disabled.

Also in my first picture you will see the res is already 1920*1080, or do you mean something else.

Regards
Andy

Hello Andy,

In your provided photo, the NVR's stream type is 1280*960
So, you need to change it, make it match the IP camera's resolution: 1920x1080

Hi Peter,

Stream type changed, all is set to 1920*1080

See attachments, still no recording.

re

Hi Peter,

I also notice that some the the settings on the camera are not being saved. So even after a SAVE and REBOOT the new settings are not saved.

I have tried
IE version 8
IE version 11
IE Version 11 compatible view
FireFox

The web interface is working. I see the video and settings are interactive.

See attachment

Hi Peter,

Already did, see new video attached.

Hi Peter,

Issue 1
NVR not recoridng - could this be caused by the type of HDD ?? 4 TB

Issue 2
Settings not saved. I sent you video, change setting, SAVE, REBOOT.
The SAVE happens too quickly, almost like a script fails.

Is there any way to change settings without using the browser.
