Home Alarm System

Solution

my G70 ultimate system is not sensitive enough. it is not detecting wireless sensors in the next room. worked only few days. need some help.

Hello dharmasiri kothalawala,

The wireless transmission range is limited for wireless sensor.
In order to expand the wireless transmission distance, it's better to relocate your sensor. Installing the sensor near to open space environment or with access space will increase the transmission distance.

By the way, you can use the wireless repeater to extend the wireless transmission distance.

dear Peter,
i installed the system last week after a long time from purchase. then it was working at all the places in my house for 2-3 days. my house is only 15m X 25m area. so the sensors were ok, working well. but after 2-3 days, suddenly it was not working. so i think this is a failure. it is not a long distence where we need repeaters. i believe ther is a fault in the main unit as even in direct open space it is working only about 10-12 meters. kindly help.
kothalawala.

Hello dharmasiri kothalawala,

Thanks for your E-mail.

If the problem comes from main unit (alarm panel), you can open the cover of the wireless alarm panel, try to change the position of the wireless antenna.

I have no idea why after 2-3 days the transmission range becomes short.

dear peter,
thanks for the reply. there two wire antennas in the system. ccan you tell me which one is it. may be with a picture. also when i try to arm away with the remote or key pad, the system keeps counting seconds with "beep" and this is not stopping after 15 seconds. this also happened same time.
but with SMS, this is no problem.
tks!

dharmasiri.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

The longest one should be the wireless receiver antenna.
When you arm the system, it has delay before active the system. We call this function - Arm Delay. Go to menu, you can adjust the delay time or disable it by input 00 value. The time range can be 00 - 59 (second)

dear Peter,
tks for the reply.
i can not find any "arm delay" in the menu. also this beep ticking keeps continue and not for 59S. it is going all the way. also before the failure, it was only 15 Seconds.
i will try the thing with antenna.
thank you!

dear peter,
to add to my above comment, it is also noted that when a sensor is activate, the display of th main unit make a very short flash (blink) and then back to normal. normally it should be indicating the activated sensor name. but it happens only with very near sensors. for sensors away about 10-12 meters, it is only the display blinks and no alarm.
hope i made it clear to you.
dharmasiri

dear Peter,
while waiting for your reply, i like to note the latest situation.
the sensors are working now with a 40cm wire is attached to the antenna in the main unit. it is ok with me.
but i can not arm the system. it is working only with SMS and so only AWAY mode. with key pad or remote, the timer keep beeping and not possible to arm. so the system is not possible to arm HOME. for this i need your help.
dharmasiri.

Hello dharmasiri kothalawala

If the LCD can make blink, that means the alarm panel can receive wireless signal.

Ensuring the alarm system in Arm mode, therefore it can trigger alarm.

Regarding to the Arm operation, "beeps" means it has Arm delay setting.
To disable Arm delay, you need go to [Arm Delay], then change default time to [00].

dear Peter,
the sensor issue is now ok. i have installed an external antenna and it looks also nice!
but the arming is not ok. as i told you in my last post, i tried a whole night to see if the timer ends. but even in the morning it keeps beep.
i am not able to locate "Arm Delay" setting. can you help me to locate it?
dharmasiri.

One more thing, you need check below things:
1. Check whether you enabled the smart sensor function or not.
You only can enable the smart sensor function for VS-OWMC and VS-PWMC (smart magnetic contact sensor).
2. Check hardwired zone:
a. If the hardwired zone is enabled, but doesn't connect hardwired sensor, it will make beep sounds.
b. Rechecking the hardwired connection, if there is something wrong in connection, you may not arm the system.

Finally, you should disable the hardwired zones, then you can solve the problem.

dear Peter,
the issue is now ok.
i think it was the "exit delay". but it was showing "S 15".
still i put it to "S 02" and then it was ok.
apperantly now the system is working and i will update you after few days.
thanks for your valuable time and support.
i will close the ticket by this.
thank you!!
dharmasiri.
